Alexandra Reiner: Rancocas Valley Regional High School special education teacher charged after having illicit tryst with male student.

A special education teacher at a southern New Jersey high school has been arrested after allegedly ‘sleeping’ with a male student.

Burlington County prosecutors say Alexandra Reiner, 30, of Easthampton Township was taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with second-degree sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child

A report via WPVI-TV told of Reiner teaching at Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly since 2011.

According to a statement from the prosecutor’s office, school district officials notified them last week about a potentially inappropriate relationship between Reiner and a student.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Reiner had ‘contact’ with the student in December in Mount Holly and Lumberton.

Details about the alleged victim have not been released, including whether he was in any of Reiner’s classes.

It was agreed Wednesday that Reiner would be released on her own recognizance, but she is under orders not to contact the alleged victim, his family or witnesses.

‘You are not to call anybody, not to text anybody, do not write letters, do not go on the internet, no email, no social media,’ said Superior Court Judge Mark Tarantino. ‘I think you get the idea.’

All information about Reiner has been expunged from the Rancocas Valley Regional High School’s website, but an online search reveals that she graduated from the school in 2006.

She then went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in English from Rutgers University in 2010, followed by a Master’s degree in education from Rutgers Graduate School of Education.

In a statement to The Cherry Hill Courier-Post addressing Reiner’s arrest, Schools Superintendent Chris Heilig said the teacher has been banned from the campus.

Yet to be necessarily understood is what led to the female teacher abusing her position of trust, authority and power and subjugating her teen male victim.
