Kelli Vassallo: A former Williamsport, Pennsylvania middle school teacher is sentenced to two years jail after illicit trysts with two teen female students.

A Pennsylvania female teacher and former basketball coach has been sentenced to two years jail after having illicit trysts with two teenage girls.

Kelli Vassallo admitted having physical contact with a 13-year-old girl while she was a coach along with having sex with with another 17-year-old girl.

The 38-year-old suspended middle school teacher committed the first offense in 2009 and the second against the 13-year-old in 2013.

Vasallo’s first violation began in 2009, first with touching, kissing and progressing to showering together with her victim until there was digital penetration.

The sentencing comes after Vassallo pleaded guilty to charges of institutional sexual assault and corruption of a minor in August.

Vassallo taught in the Williamsport district and coached basketball in the Loyalsock Township in Lycoming County at the time of the offenses.

Upon finishing her two years jail sentence, Vassallo will remain on ten years probation Penn Live reported.

The former educator will also have to register as a sex offender for 25 years and while on probation, perform 100 hours of community service.

Vassallo will serve her jail time in the county prison where she will be eligible for work release.

The older victim, who is now a married mother and lives out-of-state, said the relationship began while she was babysitting at a house which Vassallo was often visiting.

She said in a written statement she ‘convinced herself it was normal’ to have a relationship and drove her mother away because she tried to stop the pair seeing each other.

Assistant District Attorney Nicole Ippolito said reading her statement to the court: ‘I hated to be at home. Kelli made it out to be my mom’s fault. Kelli needs to be stopped.’

The younger victim, who is now 18, said Vassallo manipulated her adding, ‘you stole the best years of my life away from me. You attacked me’.

At one point, the teacher is said to have told the youngster: ‘I can’t fight our feelings; I know it’s wrong, but I think we should try to do this…’

Told Lycoming County Judge Marc Lovecchio during sentencing: ‘Saying they [the victims] were betrayed is too kind of a word’.

Not immediately understood is what led to the female educator abusing her position of trust and authority and power and sexually preying on her teen victims?
