Jacob ‘Jake’ Walter: Burlington, Kentucky, Covington Catholic High School basketball star arrested sexually assaulting 18 year old woman. Sealed prior record.
A former Kentucky high school basketball star has been arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting an 18 year old year old woman in a day long attack.
Jacob ‘Jake’ Walter, 18, the son of former NFL Bengals player Joe Walter, met up with the young woman at a house on Sunday, but she told him she did not want to have sex with him because she was not feeling well, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
The un-named woman also told police she was also scared of the former Covington Catholic High School basketball star – who stood at 7 ft tall and weighed 300 pounds- because of his ‘size, strength and aggressiveness’.
Walter, who once had a basketball scholarship offer from Xavier University, ignored the woman, and allegedly sodomized her twice throughout the day while holding her down and pulling her hair.
‘It did occur throughout the majority of the day beginning in the morning hours and ending in the evening hours,’ a Boone County Sheriff’s official told via Wave3.com. ‘They were amicably together, but she did not want to have any kind of sexual contact with him that day.’
The victim suffered bruising to her right arm, her right breast and a cut on her chest during the attack. Walter allegedly laughed at her and told her she’d be fine.
The woman was able to report the assault to police after she got in touch with a family member who convinced Walter to leave her alone,.
After leaving, Walter allegedly texted and called the woman to apologize.
Jacob Walter Kentucky basketball star: sealed prior record.
He was arrested in Boone County on rape and sodomy charges on Tuesday night, before appearing before a judge Wednesday morning, where he was ordered held on $250,000 bail.
A judge ordered Walter to stay away from the alleged victim and her family. The case returns to court Monday.
Of note, the alleged sexual assault comes after Walter was charged as a juvenile in May with domestic violence. Court records indicated the charge being dismissed and relating documents ordered to be sealed.
The Athletic reported Walter not attending Xavier University as a result of the undisclosed legal matter.
