What led to Philip Samuel Mercon a Bellmead, Texas man sexually assaulting his neighbor’s male mixed breed dog? Police arrest man while fleeing ‘crime scene’.
Also making their tabloid appearance (and how) is Texas army veteran, Philip Samuel Mercon who was arrested after allegedly co-habatating (aka having sex) with his neighbor’s male mixed breed dog.
The Waco Tribune is reporting Philip Mercon, 26 was detained by cops Saturday morning after he was observed by a witness sexually abusing a dog in their neighbor’s yard in Bellmead.
Mercon, a married man with children was arrested by responding police after initially fleeing the scene upon him being spotted assaulting his neighbor’s dog.
A police report noted Mercon, a former 3D Field Artillery Automated Tactical Data Systems specialist having been in his neighbor’s backyard with the dog-described as a mixed breed of medium size.
Despite attempting to flee, police were able to detain the violating man.
Following the incident, Lt. Kory Martin told of the dog being returned to its owner so that they could get care for it.
He added that there have been no recorded injuries for the dog.
Following his arrest, Mercon was charged with bestiality, evading arrest and criminal trespass. He was booked in the McLennan County Jail and was later released on $8,000 bond.
Mercon’s arrest is believed to be one of the first charges of bestiality in the state since September 2017, when Gov. Greg Abbott passed a law making it a felony to have sex with animals, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. If convicted, he faces up to two years in prison.
