Anthony Holmes Pottsville, Pennsylvania man arrested shooting barking dog in the face. Victim dog to lose vision in one eye.

Anthony Holmes a 30 year old Pottsville, Pennsylvania man has been arrested after allegedly shooting a friend’s dog in the face because it was barking.

The incident happened Saturday night, circa 8:20pm, when the dog’s owner, Holmes and two other men were at a residence on West Market Street.

Police say Holmes, 30, took out a gun and shot his friend’s dog in the face after becoming angry over the dog’s barking at him before fleeing.

The dog – a 10-year-old German Shepherd mix named Diddy, fled the scene, before being retrieved and taken to a veterinary hospital where the animal was treated for egregious injuries. To date it remains unlikely Diddy will ever be able to see out of his right eye again.

Diddy’s owner can’t afford to pay the dog’s medical bills with the local branch of the SPCA appealing to raise funds
