Gabrielle Bauman a Kansas science teacher is set to go to trial after being accused of having a six month sexual affair with a teen student.
Gabrielle Bauman a 24 year old former Kansas high school teacher has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a male student for six months.
The accusation comes after the science teacher is alleged to have been sexually involved with one of her students between November 2016 and May 2017.
Come July, Bauman resigned from Hiawatha High School where she had taught anatomy and biology for just over a year.
Following investigations, Bauman was arrested on August 29 on charges of one count of unlawful sexual relations, a level 5 person felony reported WIBW.
The arrest came after a report had been forwarded to Hiawatha USD 415 Board of Education administration in mid-June 2017.
Prior to the allegations against her, Bauman had been a student teacher for one semester before being hired by the district as an instructor for the 2016-2017 school year.

According to the complaint cited by the Hiawatha World Online, the alleged victim was a ‘person 16 years or older who was a student enrolled at Hiawatha High School where the offender was employed’.
In a statement, Brown Country Attorney Kevin Hill said, ‘investigation included the execution of a search warrant and forensic review of several electronic devices by the Hiawatha Police Department’s Digital Forensics Unit and the Heart of America Regional Computer Forensic Lab in Kansas City.’
Bauman waved her right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday. She was then bound over for trial at Brown County District Court.
Hill says an arraignment hearing has been set for November 27. Bauman is currently free on $5,000 bond.
To date it isn’t clear what led to the teacher abusing her position of trust, authority and power and sexually preying on her male teen victim.
