Nareumon Jampasert: Video of a jealous Thai wife threatening to hang her baby son goes viral after the woman suspects her husband of cheating.
Nareumon Jampasert a 28 year old ‘jealous’ Thai wife has been spared jail after threatening to hang her baby son in a bid to get her husband’s attention.
The incident comes after the Thai woman filmed herself holding her one year old son by the neck in order to force her husband, whom she suspected of cheating to pick up the phone.
Video footage (see below) showed the wife issuing a dire warning to her husband, threatening to hang their son if the man didn’t immediately come home.
Release of the video which was shared on social media by a concerned family friend led to police in Bangkok arresting Jampasert, only for the wife to be shortly released there after.
A family spokesperson reported local press went on to describe the incident as a ‘family disagreement’.
Video footage shows the mother speaking into the camera while holding her son, Theeradej Saisupan with a black rope already tied around his neck.
She then briefly suspends the son in the air in front of the camera, with the boy crying in pain before she lets him go.
Addressing her husband Jakrit Saisupan, 32, the wife says: ‘You see, Joe. You care about people a lot. This is your son. This is a rope.
‘Look at him. He not dead. I have not killed him yet. Look at him. I will take him to die somewhere. You have to wait to see me today.
‘If you don’t come back to take him, you have to wait to see what happens today. You don’t answer your phone, yeah?’
Jampasert then sent the video to her husband, who passed it on to his sister and mother in an attempt to get someone to the family home to help his son.
They in turn posted the video online in a bid to raise the alarm amid fears the boy could be harmed, sending police to the flat on Friday afternoon.
Ms Jampasert was arrested while the boy was given a health check by paramedics noted the dailymail.
The wife is alleged to have told responding officers she’d been suffering from stress because sales from her online shop had been low, and that she feared that her husband was seeing another woman because he was spending a lot of time at work.
Told Jampasert: ‘I’m hurting a lot. The first thing I was thinking was that I wanted to kill myself. I did this to the baby because I wasn’t thinking, and I was emotional.
‘In my heart I’m thinking my husband does not care about his son, does not care about his wife.
‘I took the baby and I wanted to do something to make my husband hurt. I took the video and sent it to him.
‘He sent to his sister and then they sent me a message to calm down and to not do this [harm the child]. After I spoke with his family it was OK, and me and the baby went to sleep.’
Police later told at a press conference that the mother would not be charged, as it was a ‘family disagreement’ and the boy’s father said he did not want to take it further.
Addressing local media, Lt Col Samat Gringaew said the baby did not have any injuries but would be checked again at hospital.
Told the man: ‘We will not proceed with charges against the mother because if she goes to prison, who will take care of the child?’
That said, police conceded social workers – who initially wanted to seize the child – would speak with the family to ensure it was safe for the baby to return home reported the mirror.
It wasn’t necessarily understood if there had been other incidents in which the mother displayed emotional trauma, to the point of harming the baby boy.
