Four strippers murder Good Samaritan, Ralph Cross a White City, Missouri man after helping them change flat tire. Robbery suspected in motive.
Four adult entertainers have murdered Missouri man, Ralph Edward Cross, 55, after helping the women change a flat tire.
Arrested were strippers, Brittany Curry, 28, Ponesha Taylor, 23, Johniesha Simmons, 19, and Lauteshia Dotson, 23, hailing from Memphis and Nashville.
All four women have since been charged with first degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon in the connection with the victim’s murder at his Wilson City home.
A report via Fox 13 told of Cross being seen with the woman on Monday, offering to buy them a new tire along with allowing them to stay at his home while he worked on their vehicle.
The women reportedly stayed at his house until Cross’ body was discovered there Tuesday morning.
Investigators believe the women using a 9mm handgun to kill their victim reported KFVS 12.
Acting Mississippi County Sheriff Branden Caid said Curry pulled the trigger on Cross.
He died of a gunshot wound to the back.
Cross was last seen in his house around 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 1, shortly before his murder.
A witness said he saw Cross arguing with three of the women, while the fourth woman remained in a white car parked outside his house.
The witness said that as he walked toward his home, he heard a noise and saw the three women leave Cross’ home and enter the white car.
The witness said he heard one of the women who was in that car say that Cross was ‘tripping and do not go back down there’.
Caid said the women killed Cross after robbing him.
Multiple witnesses said they had seen the victim with a large sum of money and that money has not been recovered.
Investigators said couch cushions were ruffled and that pockets of pants belonging to Cross had been turned out. Other evidence pointed to a robbery, too.
Police also said the women were in Missouri after advertising escort services online.
The women turned themselves in to the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 3, after friends and family who had seen their pictures from surveillance footage on the news persuaded them to tell their side of the story.
Neighbors told via KFVS 12 Cross was well-known for the way he treated the kids in town.
They said he would toss them a few bucks here and there to buy things like snacks. He even helped some of them with their back-to-school supplies.
To date, none of the women has admitted to the murder of Cross, or identified what role they played in it.
Curry, Taylor, Simmons and Dotson are all being held in separate facilities without bond.
