Laura Ramos a Connecticut teacher is arrested after having sex with a special educations student because she wasn’t being fulfilled by her husband.
Also joining the ever expanding roster of female teachers sexually preying on male teen students is 31 year old Milford, Connecticut teacher, Laura Ramos after engaging in a sexual relationship with an 18 year old male student.
Following her arrest, the special educations teacher at Bridgeport’s Central High School said she was compelled because her husband wasn’t fulfilling her ‘needs’ at home.
Charged with second-degree sexual assault, school officials placed the married mother of a young child on administrative leave reported The Connecticut Post.
Notice of the crime came after cops were called to the high school June 9 following a complaint of a sexual assault.
Officers say a student at the school told a teacher Ramos had been having sexual intercourse with one of her students in the special education program.
Police say Ramos told them she had a relationship with the victim from December 23, 2016 until April 2017.
Filed court documents noted the relationship entailed a number of sexual encounters during this period.
But it gets better.
Another student told school officials that Ramos had also begun a texting relationship with him, according to WFSB.
In the text messages, Ramos had initiated discussions regarding school matters before allegedly confiding to the student about her marital problems as the weeks passed by.
Noted police documents, ‘Ms. Ramos would complain that her “man” or “guy” does not want to have sex or do anything with her’.
The student said he began to suspect that one of his classmates was engaging in inappropriate relations with Ramos.
‘Witness 1 noticed the victim would hang out in Ms. Ramos’ class and… would watch them make eyes at each other like flirting,’ court documents said.
The witness also told police that the text messages included sexually-charged content.
He said that Ramos even inquired about the possibility of buying marijuana ‘for her and her man’.
While initially denying having a sexual relationship with the student, Ramos relented, conceding she had talked to the student with whom she allegedly had her liaisons about denying their relationship.
Court documents cited Ramos and the student discussing deleting text messages between them, after having become ‘scared’ following police investigations.
In her confession, Ramos admitted having sex with her victim ‘a handful of times’ in her car – the most recent encounter taking place in April.
On June 20, Ramos resigned from the school. The resignation came whilst the school district had initiated terminating the woman’s employment reported NBC Connecticut.
Told the school district in a statement, ‘Please be assured that the safety and welfare of our students is our main priority at Bridgeport Public Schools, and we make every effort to ensure the ongoing safety of our students,’
‘We take seriously all allegations of inappropriate conduct which threatens the well-being of our students, and such misconduct will not be tolerated.’
Ramos is due in court next week after having posted $50,000 bond pending arraignment. If convicted the special education teacher, could face up to 10 years in prison.
