Daniel and Santana Mexican a South Dakota father and daughter have been accused of incest and now await trial after pleading not guilty.
Daniel and Santana Mexican of Eagle Butte, South Dakota have both pleaded not guilty after allegedly having consensual sex.
If convicted both father and daughter face up to five years jail along with a $250 000 fine each. Upon their release, Daniel Mexican and Santana Mexican would also be obliged to three years of supervised release notes the rapidcityjournal.
In a previous statement, United States Attorney Randolph J. Seiler said that both father and daughter are being investigated by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay Miller is prosecuting the case.
Since their December 16 grand indictment the defendants have been released on bond as they now await trial on February 21.
