French woman bites rapist’s tongue off: How one young woman was able to ward off her attacker and have him prosecuted.
A 19 year old French woman from Toulouse has secured a conviction against a man who attempted to rape her after biting the man’s tongue off.
The attack against the woman happened in the town of Purpan, in southern France, when the perpetrator, a 24 year old man followed his intended victim to her home.
Upon entering the apartment building the assailant according to France’s La Dépêche du Midi newspaper took to attacking the woman in the elevator.
A judicial source told the paper that he then managed to penetrate the woman.
In court testimony, the woman told how the man demanded to have sex with her, ‘violently pulling her blouse’ and other clothing during the sex attack.
From there, the woman according to a report via the independent, allowed the man to kiss her, and as he did so, bit his tongue in two, prompting him to run away.
The victim then raised the alarm and emergency services arrived at the apartment building where they found copious blood along with the end of the attacker’s tongue.
As he ran away, his wounded tongue bled onto the pavement, leaving a trail.
It wasn’t long before the suspect was tracked down, after police informed nearby hospitals to be alert for a patient missing part of his tongue. He was later arrested and taken into police custody upon soon arriving at one of the hospitals demanding emergency treatment.
Investigators reportedly matched his DNA to blood found at the crime scene, and the man was charged with rape.
The man’s version of events, in which he claimed the woman led him on, were dismissed and he was convicted and sent to prison on Wednesday.
