Amber Anderson a 27 year old Christian high school teacher has apologized for taking a 15 year old student’s innocence after tacitly admitting she had a sexual relationship with the minor two years ago.
Relieved of her duties at Christian Life Academy in Baton Rouge the woman now faces being charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
Prior to her booking on Tuesday, Anderson had been a math teacher at her former employer for three years, whilst the alleged relationship took place during July and August of 2013.
The woman’s recent arrest only came after a former student told the victim’s mother.
Upon confronting her son the mother then told detectives her son divulging that he had been sexually coerced by Amber Anderson, with the pair having set about exchanging sexually explicit messages and later having sex at the woman’s home.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the pair began texting each other after the minor got the teacher’s phone number from another student.
The victim told police that as time progressed, ‘he and [Anderson] became extremely close to one another, and the messages began to become sexual in nature.’
But it gets better.
The victim and Anderson then began to exchange nude photos of each other and began having sex in July 2013.
He would walk to a fast food restaurant near his house and Anderson would pick him up. From there the teacher would take the minor to her house where they had sex.
The victim told police this happened multiple times in July and August of 2013 until his mom found out they had been exchanging text messages.
He had deleted most of them, with the affidavit revealing the minor’s mother was unaware of the ‘intimate nature of the minor and the accused’s relationship.’
Concerned over what she had seen, the mother confronted Anderson and told her to stop texting her son. The mother also reported the texts to the school’s administration.
Responding to the assertion that the mother had reached out to the school back in 2013, Dr. Jere Melinni, a pastor and founder of the school denied any such knowledge.
‘I do not know anything about this. This is the first day that I have heard anything of this nature,’ he told WAFB.
‘We would have taken care of it then and she would no longer have been working for us that day I heard.’
Adding: ‘We’re devastated and yet we are thankful that it has been exposed because that type of thing just cannot be tolerated in an academic setting like this.’
Police have checked the boy’s cell phone records from the time of the alleged affair and found most of the calls and text messages happened between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.
The victim remains a pupil at Christian Life Academy.
Amber Anderson’s former employer has since removed her biography page from their school website. Can anyone guess why?
