It seems the trend towards bikini waxes is losing steam as more and more women are returning to a more ‘natural’ look as they are increasingly choosing to embrace their own natural appearances, pubic hair and all.
Perhaps steering the trend back to the au natural look are reports that us men frankly don’t care whether our lovers are sporting as the UK’s telegraph goes on to call it a ‘Bobby Ball-style-bush.’
Tells the journal: Or maybe you ditched the razor when Gwyneth Paltrow admitted on the Ellen Degeneres show that she “rocks a 70s vibe down there”but it is now official: 51 per cent of 1,870 women who answered an online pharmacy poll, carried out by UK Medix, do not “style or groom their pubic hair” with 45 per cent of us admitting that we can “no longer be bothered to keep up the grooming” and 62 per cent revealing that their partner “prefers the natural look”.
The move to bare private parts came as porn stars were seen embracing ‘cleaner’ private parts as well as one wonders playing up to the fetish of younger pre-pubescent women.
The trend went on to be corroborated by actresses and models who would be featured in ‘swooping’ crotch shots as well as young women who instead of appropriating their new found femininity were anxious to deny the existence of pubic hair.
Citing Caitlin Moran‘s feminist bible How To Be A Woman with encouraging women to sport the natural look rather than that of the typically bald porn star, the telegraph’s Beverly Turner tells how Moran has helped lead to the resurgence of women accepting their own pubic hair once again.
In Caitlin Moran’s book the author explains that the fashion for hairlessness is simply the result of people watching too much pornography, and young girls being convinced they should look that way.
But when it comes to those who do have a strict under-knicker beauty regime, 33 per cent shave, 15 per cent use hair-removal cream, and 27 per cent favor professional waxing.
Not sure what exactly has turned the trend around, more men have expressed that they really don’t care how a woman’s private parts looks (although I suspect neatly manicured might be the right go…) with many comfortable with a woman’s pubes.
Replies the author’s husband when asked what he’s preferred look (not that a woman should exist to only gear her sexual and physical orientation on what a man thinks is likely to get him off, even if Cosmopolitan mag will tell you otherwise) is he responds as follows:
“Well, neat is good: it suggests you’ve made an effort. But too little hair is a bit pervy isn’t it? We’ve got daughters. It would be weird if I preferred that look.”
Weird or not, let women figure it out for themselves what best works for them and us men to accept their choices.
