Saurabh Agarwal, 39, has been booked for molesting a sleeping passenger’s breasts whilst she slept on a flight next to him from Miami to Washington this past Wednesday on an American Airlines flight.
The complaint came after the man is said to have been accused of slipping his hand into the woman’s bra and allegedly even squeezing her nipple as well as hugging her tight. At the same time Agarwal is also said to have touched another woman on the leg who was sitting on his other side in an aisle seat.
According to a sworn affidavit courtesy of FBI Special Agent David Wiegand, Agarwal purportedly told the woman that ‘she seemed tired’ before proceeding to ask her ‘if she had a long day,’ as she sat down.
From there Agarwa is said to have started to molest the woman after she fell asleep.
The affidavit goes on to state that the woman who has simply been identified as ‘R.C.L’ woke up but was “so scared” she decided not to open her eyes.
From there the statement goes on to state that the alleged victim was given a brief break when Agarwal ordered two scotches from the refreshment cart, but it wasn’t long before Agarwal pressed himself up against her legs.
The woman left her seat, saying she had to use the restroom, before bursting into tears and telling the flight crew what had happened.
He is now being held in jail and will appear in U.S. District Court in Alexandria on Friday. If convicted he faces up to two years in prison.
The case once again underscores the increasingly vexing attitudes towards women by a certain sector of society that has come to regard women as sexual objects willing and able to sexually gratify them. The fact that the incident took place in a public area perhaps underscores the increasingly pervasive attitudes amongst a certain sector of society that duly believes that it is free game to treat women as free lunch.
And then there was this rather awkward comment on the web that has been getting similar airplay from other commentators:
I have to add that the fact this guy was from India, doesn’t surprise me. Call me a racist if you want, but they have been having way too many rapes over there. This pattern of misogyny from that part of the world, is hard to ignore.
