Hulk Hogan is taking the bull by the horn with the announcement that the former pro wrestler is to now suing Bubba Clem, his former best friend and his ex wife, Heather Clem as well as gossip site gawker for leaking a sex tape which starred the eponymous (unfortunately) wrestler.
In the lawsuit, our collective hero is arguing that he and Heather Clem had consensual sex over six years ago but unbeknownst to him he was unaware at the time that he was being secretly filmed.
Offered Hogan’s attorney, Charles Harder : ‘Mr Hogan had a reasonable expectation of his privacy, just as all Americans have a reasonable expectation of their privacy in their bedrooms,’
The taped video subsequently landed on gawker (and every other gossip website within the hour) who gleefully leaked the tape’s contents play by play. At present it is unclear who gave gawker the video.
At present Hogan is arguing that the video has caused ‘severe and irreparable injury which cannot be adequately compensated by monetary damages’.
Of course many would argue that the real damages sustained by Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Bollea) has over the years been self inflected courtesy of his perilous public behavior but that of course is a matter of opinion.
As an aside Hulk Hogan has acknowledged that he and Heather Clem had sex whilst he was still married to Linda Hogan who had in recent years gone on to divorce him. Can anyone guess why?
Then there was this comment on the web that caught my eye as well:
‘Mr Hogan had a reasonable expectation of his privacy, just as all Americans have a reasonable expectation of their privacy in their bedrooms,’ attorney Charles Harder said. …except that he wasn’t in his bedroom. He was shtupping his best friend’s wife in her bedroom …
