American Apparel push boundaries with topless swimwear ads.

American Apparel goes for broke as it goes financially broke.

With American Apparel’s financial woes mounting, one would think that the apparel maker would look to placate the consumer and bring them back to the fold. Not so for American Apparel CEO and founder Dov Charney who it seems is hoping that his latest ad campaign will bring his chain more attention and more sales. Maybe so, but then again, the question exists- ‘are women ready to hit the pools and beaches with flimsy bikini’s? Or better still are women particularly interested in being portrayed as flimsy?’

  1. I don’t get these people. They have insanely high prices and they’re going bankrupt. Do they do the logical thing (ie. Lower prices)? Nooooooo. They resort to naked people to sell expensive stuff. *sigh* And they wonder why they aren’t doing well.

  2. I don’t think the swimsuit is flattering, but whatever. I’m a bit tired of them. Everything is ridiculously overpriced and getting to the point of being a little hokey in some of their design concepts.
