The terrible things that do and will happen if you don’t behave.

Oh well, we might as well call it quits for David Shuster who once again couldn’t help sticking his foot up his rear end and at the same time leaving footprints at the front door step of his boss – Phil Griffin.

In case anyone has ever wondered, working as a media whore for the likes of the big networks is a guaranteed pledge that you will forever tow the corporate line, never question what happens outside the script and behave as nice as possible to your bosses and most especially your bosses’ bosses- which coincidentally help keep him rich.

That said, David Shuster misbehaved in bold faced terms this past weekend when it was revealed according to the NY Times that he had participated in a test of a new show for CNN, a competing cable news channel. As you can imagine that is never a clever thing to be doing whilst your employer is always looking over their shoulder.

This all comes at the back of some nasty incident back in 2008, when Shuster (and really who could disagree with him?) openly opined that Hillary Clinton in her run for the presidential nomination for the Democratic party was ‘pimping’ her daughter Chelsea out. It led to him being suspended by his employer, the same employer that not once questioned the legitimacy of the US government going off to invade Iraq, but now somehow making it a nightly ritual to ask how and why the recent turmoil in the mid east came to be.

In any event David, don’t worry about these turds, you’ll soon come to see there’s always some degree of panache of being an underpaid writer finally being allowed to do and say what they really feel.

  1. This whole post is ridiculous. Shuster is under contract with MSNBC. Filming the pilot for CNN was a contract violation, pure and simple. I like the guy, but he’s been in the business long enough to know that the was playing with fire. As to the “pimping” comment, again, fail. Chelsea Clinton is a grown woman who hit the campaign trail for her mother, not some helpless kid who was pressed into servitude. Did the anchors criticize any of the other candidates for campaigning with their kids? That would be a no.
