Pornostar Elektra Luxx herself– Carla Gugino and her female copatriot “Trixie” Malin Akerman beautifully charmed the press at the red carpet outside the Visual Arts Theater in Chelsea Friday night. The third night of the 15th Annual Gen Art Film Festival presented by Acura featured director Sebastian Gutierrez steamy, low budget Elektra Luxx which was shot in 15 days, with a 10-12-person cast that all knew each other. The spin-off-sequel to “Women in Trouble” 2009, prequel to “Women in Ecstasy” 2011, Venezuelan-American Gutierrez—and longtime boyfriend to star Elektra- best known for his Critic’s Award film Judas’ Kiss 1998 celebrates woman and their sexuality in this second of three film-series. It empowers the unexpected and long unseen–sex, lesbian lovers, a bestselling female author in action, and even Virgin Mary (played by Julianne Moore).

When I asked Carla Gugino what the most challenging part of making the film was, she amiably replies: “I dance and sing for the first time…I’ve never done that before.” Referring specifically to her erotic “I just want to fall in love” solo performed later in the film, Carla emphasizes, “It’s a sexy, fun- lively role,” responds the enthusiast.

Best-known for playing Vincent Chase’s new agent, Amanda, in Entourage, Adrian Grenier’s lovely appearance on the burgundy-red carpet for photos charismatically shed light on this very aspect of the red-lipped brunette dressed in red’s career. Their acquiescence seemed sweet, infinite as Grenier fled stylishly, with no comment.   Meanwhile, blue-eye blonde Malin Akerman responds to my inquiries into her workout regime: “I binge workout—since I don’t workout while I work,” she says- underscoring the efficacy of ‘cross-fit, aerobic’ training that ‘tightens the core’ and landed her Maxim’s cover, 2009. “We had lots of fun celebrating women and their sexuality, and we all kind of love each other.”
