A 20 year old suspect is arrested in the fatal stabbing of a Brownsville mother, Latanya Watson following confrontation on number 3 train that spilled on to Sutter Avenue-Rutland Road station.

A 20 year old female suspect has been arrested in the stabbing death of a Brooklyn mother- who was fatally knifed following an ‘altercation’ at the Sutter Avenue-Rutland Road station in Brownsville circa 9:20 p.m, Wednesday night.

The victim, identified as 30-year-old Latanya Watson, was aboard the northbound train when a dispute with 20 year old woman, Mia Simmons – started, police said.

The argument continued when both women got off the train at Brownsville, with cops saying Watson pepper-spraying the other woman who in turn stabbed Watson multiple times in the face, neck and arm in the mezzanine of the station.

Medics rushed Watson, who lived just blocks from the train station, to Brookdale Hospital, but she could not be saved the nypost reported.

Authorities were able to make an arrest after tracking the suspect down to her grandmother’s house – some ten blocks away from the crime scene after following a trail of blood. The suspect, whose identity had yet to be publicly revealed- had during the deadly altercation also cut her hand.

When officers, who also used surveillance video in their probe, arrived at the home, a relative told them the woman had been in a fight and had gone to a hospital, where she was soon found and arrested, sources said.

Authorities recovered the clothes the 20 year old woman had apparently been wearing at the time.

Investigators on Tuesday were grilling the 20-year-old, who was picked up earlier in the day and brought to the 73rd Precinct, sources said.

Brownsville suspect’s fiance: ‘She was my Queen. Her death doesn’t even feel real.’

Watson had a 12-year-old and worked at Fairway Market in Red Hook, family members and neighbors said Tuesday.

‘I’m angry!’ told Watson’s father, Frank, via the nypost.

The father said his daughter was on her way home from work when she was fatally knifed.

‘She was my daughter,’ the father added. ‘This is an unfortunate situation.’

The victim’s aunt, Joan McGriff, said the family is ‘in shock.’

‘She was a beautiful young woman. She was educated. She never looked for trouble,’ McGriff told via the nypost. ‘She is a mother…She smiled a lot. She’s very smart, respectful, she minds her manners.’

Watson’s fiancé Jerelle Martin told CBS New York that her death ‘still does not feel real.’

‘She was my queen. She was the most beautiful woman I ever met in this world,’ Martin said.

‘She texted me on her way home, she said ‘I love you. I’m on my way home.’ It was the last text I got last night,’ Martin told BrooklynNews12.com.

A neighbor of Watson’s said she had her son just before she moved to Brownsville where the victim lived for 12 years.

‘She loved her boy,’ the neighbor said.

Come late Tuesday evening, cops arrested 20 year old woman, Mia Simmons over the attack. Reports told of the woman being charged with manslaughter and possession of a weapon.

It’s  believed that Simmons and Watson were strangers to each other.

Authorities have yet to say what ultimately triggered the deadly altercation as family and friends try to make sense of a senseless tragedy.
