A six-year-old girl has survived an attack after being stabbed in the face at a family birthday party in Fresno, California over the weekend.
Crystal Parra, 35, was arrested on suspicion of the attack after he woman allegedly saying she ‘became upset with the child’.
Paramedics and fire crews rushed to the home at just after 5.30pm on Saturday where they found the child with a cut under her eye. The victim has since been identified as Aries Barrera.
Abc30 reported Parra being arrested shortly after the ‘incident’ at a shopping center less than half a mile from the home where the attack took place.
Footage taken on a phone of a store employee shows the moment the wanted woman was arrested and taken into custody.
She remains in Fresno County Jail on charges including felony child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon.

‘The suspect became upset with the six-year-old for some reason that we have not been able to determine and struck the victim in the face,’ Lt. Bill Dooley told during a weekend press conference.
‘When she struck her she had some sort of sharp object in her hand, possibly a razor blade we’re not sure but that’s what it was described as,’ Dooley said.
‘We do have a little bit of cooperation but not as much as we usually would on one of these calls’ he continued.
The child and the person that bought her to the family party were the only people willing to give statements, police said.
Parra’s relationship to the victim is unclear.
The six-year-old was taken to Community Regional Medical Center on Saturday evening to be treated, and is expected to survive the attack.
