Pulse Orlando nightclub shooter: What set of an individual, going on a manic shooting spree at a local same sex nightclub? Hostages trapped pled to be rescued.

An unidentified gunman who had taken up to 20 hostages at Pulse Orlando nightclub after gunshots rang out at the venue early Sunday morning at the Florida venue is confirmed dead.

Police tweeted just before 6 a.m. that the shooter was dead. The circumstances of the Pulse nightclub shooter’s death are not yet clear.

Preliminary reports told of the shooter wearing a suicide bomb vest, entering the venue and firing off as many as ’20, 40, 50′ gunshots according to terrified witnesses before barricading themselves into the building with a number of victims.

It would be later revealed that at least 42 club patrons were transported to medical facilities with as many as 20 people dead still inside at a 7am police conference.

At the time of the initial shooting the venue was full just on 2am as trapped club goers inside began tweeting for help.

A report via WESH Orlando told of the Pulse Orlando nightclub shooter fitted with a bomb with estimates of more than 20 people being shot with a long gun just on 2am.

The report added bomb squad dogs and crews on the scene.

With local streets cordoned off, Orlando Police department staged an operation to contain the situation with police confirming there were ‘multiple injuries.’

Told a police dispatcher of the active shooting: There are injuries. I am not sure if there are any deceased at this time.’

Police implored people to keep away from the area.

One witness told Sky News there had been more than 100 people inside the venue for the club’s Latin night when the gunman entered the building and began firing into the ceiling and into the crowd.

Told a club patron: ‘We just heard shots, it was less than a minute, it felt longer. There was a brief pause and we just ran. Everybody was just faces to the floor. I had someone over me, I really didn’t see [how many gunmen there were]. All I can tell you was the club was packed, there were over 100 people there, if the gunman came in through the front door people were injured or worse.’

Witnesses told of the shooting lasting between 15 and 20 minutes.

Rosie Feba, a witness, told the Orlando Sentinel she and her girlfriend were in the club near closing time when, ‘she told me someone was shooting. Everyone was getting on the floor. I told her I didn’t think it was real, I thought it was just part of the music, until I saw fire coming out of his gun.’

Posted one club patron, Ricardo J. Negron Almodovar on the club’s Facebook page after managing to escape the venue: ‘I was there. Shooter opened fire @ around 2:00am.

‘People on the dance floor and bar got down on the floor and some of us who were near the bar and back exit managed to go out through the outdoor area and just ran. I am safely home and hoping everyone gets home safely as well :(‘

Posted another user, Lilbia Carmen:Nothing yet. My daughter is in there. Please keep praying for them… She’s waiting for cops to be able to come out. I was on the fone and all i hear is shot guns.’

Witness Anthony Torres posted to Facebook that he and his friends made it out of the club ‘just barely as we started to hear fire being shot.’

‘They are just pulling people out in stretchers loading them up,’ he said, referring to first responders. ‘Omg please god let everyone make it.

‘People are screaming that people are dead,‘ Torres wrote in another post.

‘Please God let everyone be alright … Never seen anything like this.’

Social media reports told of hostages still inside the club, reportedly hiding in a dress room, with lights off, with one user, @GoEmili0 telling, ‘cops are here but haven’t got us yet.’

At present authorities have yet to tell what may have motivated the Pulse nightclub gunman, except to suggest the individual was bent on maximum carnage.

Of note, Sunday morning’s shooting took place less than four miles away from where The Voice singer Christina Grimmie was shot dead at The Plaza Live in Orlando on Friday 22.45 local time at the hands of St Petersburg gunmanKevin James Loibl.
