Swedish authorities have arrested a 38 year old doctor from the region of Skane, accusing him of plotting to hold a woman hostage in a Josef Fritzl style underground dungeon after allegedly drugging, kidnapping and raping a local Stockholm woman.
Local media reports tell of the the physician lacing strawberries with Rohypnol knocking the woman out, where the Swedish version of Austria’s Josef Fritzl then raped the unconscious woman at her home.
The doctor who as of yet has not been publicly identified then put the victim in a wheelchair and drove almost 350 miles to his residential home close to Kristianstad, south Sweden, reports the mirror.
Incredulously while driving the man is alleged to have worn two different rubber masks, one of an old man, and another of a beard male in a bid to divert attention from himself. During the journey, the doctor is alleged to have repeatedly sedated the woman.
From there police tell of the doctor keeping the woman locked up for a week while continually raping and sexually abusing her.
Since the man’s arrest, prosecutors have told of beliefs that the man had created an underground dungeon, in which it is thought he planned to keep the woman locked up ‘for years’, in essence to be the man’s hostage sex slave.
During investigations cops told of the man having constructed a 60 square meter bunker in which he planned to keep his victim hostage over the course of five years.
Chillingly, a police report told of the sex dungeon having concrete enforced as 12.5 inches thick. In essence making any victim’s escape untenable.
The bunker is also said to have had a bedroom, functioning toilet and working kitchen.
To boot, the structure is said to also have had a fully covered courtyard where a person could go outside – without being seen by neighbors.
Told a local media report via google translate: According to the indictment, he during the years 2010-2015 on its property in Skåne have erected a wooden building on the outside looked like a machine hall. In fact, the building contained a self-constructed bunker.
Local media reports tell of the Swedish Fritzl having met the woman before the alleged rape, when the doctor visited her in her flat in central Stockholm on September 12 last year.
During the alleged attack, police claim the doctor took blood and intimate samples from the woman and tested them at his workplace for any traces of sexually transmitted diseases.
The scheme only came to an end after the doctor returned to the woman’s flat to gather some of her belongings, only to spot police crawling the area.
Friends of the woman had called police, and the doctor reportedly panicked and took her to a police station where he forced her to tell a phony story.
Sensing that something things were off, prosecutors took the woman aside where she told of her ordeal at the hands of the assailant.
Told Chief prosecutor Peter Claeson during a local press conference: ‘We believe his intention has been to keep the woman locked up for several years.
‘We also suspect him of planning this for years. Among other things, he has built the bunker to bring one or more victims.’
The doctor has admitted drugging, kidnapping and holding the woman against her will. He denies rape told a statement via his lawyer, Mari Schaub.
Incredibly the man has since told all he wanted was a girlfriend, someone to be his partner and to live with him.
The trial against 38-year-old physician is expected to start in the Stockholm District Court on 25 January.
