ISIS has released a new Cubs of Caliphate video ensuring heightened stigma and disbelief in which a ten year old ISIS child fighter is observed beheading a Syrian army officer.
In the video, the boy no older than ten is takes to decapitating a Syrian government commander in the ancient city of Palmyra. It is the second such video in recent weeks that the Islamic Jihadist group have released showcasing children committing atrocities in its behalf.
According to a report via the dailymail, the execution is believed to have been carried out at the Western Hir Palace in the province of Homs after the soldier was captured at the Al-Bosayri army checkpoint.
Donned in camouflage and a black headdress the boy approaches the man, pulls his head up and slices his throat. He then lifts the severed head in grotesque glee and puts it on the man’s back.
As the video ends, an older militant vents at a filming camera: ‘Our goal is not only Palmyra or Homs or Damascus, rather our goal is to conquer Bayt al-Maqdes [Jerusalem] and Rome, God willing,’ according to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The outlet goes on to report that more than 50 child soldiers/fighters recruited by the Islamic State group in Syria have died this year, all under the age of 16.
