Whilst she may have been forced to take down Monday night’s topless image on her instagram account after breaching instagram’s rules of use, supermodel, Chrissy Teigen has hardly backed down as she went ahead and posted a new topless photo last night.
Tweeted the model at the time: ‘The nipple has been temporarily silenced but she will be back, oh yes, she will be back.’
While being careful not to this time show her nipple, the model in her latest instagram posting instead carefully deployed the use of a hairspray bottle where her nipple would normally be. In effect showing the visage of her breast, and asserting the notion that a woman can still be tastefully presented on social media without the fear that overlords will judge such instances as too controversial on their portal.
At the end of the day, it’s an interesting dilemma, social media outlets have to call how they see fit to run their platforms whilst remaining mindful for an ever increasing demand from women to allow themselves to portray themselves as they deem appropriate.
Define appropriate? Define sexual connotations that so often come attached to breasts and nipples and define America’s frazzled and highly charged relationship to the nipple.
As of Wednesday lunchtime, the model’s latest topless photo had not been deleted from Teigen’s Instagram. It received more than 104,000 likes and 3,600 comments. Indeed.
