How one outspoken Aussie feminist caused one news outlet to back down. Because sexism is part of the entrenched cultural dialect …

Australian journalist Clementine Ford has taken umbrage with Channel Seven’s Sunrise program after the news outlet posted on Facebook: ‘What’s it going to take for women to get the message about taking and sending nude photos?’

The post by the news outlet came after 400 Adelaide, Australian women came to be victims of a nude photo hack which saw their images hosted on a site running leaked images.

Responding to the outlet’s Facebook comments, Ford took to social media where she posted a topless selfie with the words, ‘Hey #Sunrise, get f****d’ on her chest .

In a subsequent posting Clementine Ford added: ‘I have taken nude photos of myself and sent them to lovers.

‘I’ve taken nude photos of myself when I’m bored. I’ve taken nude photos just because I have a smart phone and it’s fun.

‘None of that means I have asked for my privacy to be violated, my photos stolen and my very self made available for public humiliation and judgment. Consent is everything.’

The journalist claims Sunrise was ‘victim blaming‘ added in an aside that her picture was taken on the toilet – ‘because that’s about the amount of respect I have for Sunrise and the parade of morons who produce the whole sorry mess of it.’

Not surprisingly, Ford’s post came to be shared more than 100,000 times, with Yahoo!7 – who run Sunrise program’s Facebook page – since apologizing.

But it didn’t stop there.

Soon after Clementine Ford found herself attracting unwanted attention from strangers who asking for her nude photographs.

Hardly discouraged, the gunho feminist took to posting screenshots of her correspondences with her male counterparts

One man asked if she would like to see his private parts and sent an image of his bare chest.

Which led to Ford responding: And this is how some d-bags choose to respond to a post about women’s bodily autonomy and rights to privacy,’

Since Sunrise came to be lambasted, social media users have demanded an apology from Sunrise via change.org petition.

States the petition next to a photo of Sunrise hosts David Koch and Samantha Armytage:

‘It is never the fault of women or girls for sharing nude photos or trusting their partners. It is the fault of organised predatory, spiteful people who have abused trust,

‘Due to these people’s actions these images are now open to further misuse and unconsensual sharing.

‘It is time for Sunrise to put the blame where it really lies – on the people who share private pictures to ruin someone’s life and the culture that dismisses this!’
