Making the rounds is a video (see below) of a lamb born with human like face features including eyes, nose and mouth on a farm in Russia.
Shocked locals would tell the only thing of the lamb’s facial features that did not resemble that of a human were of its ears which resembled that of a sheep.
Witnesses also told that upon being born the lamb made a number of peculiar grunting noises as it was nuzzled by its mother.
According to a report via the UK’s dailymail, the human faced like lamb was born in the village of Chirka, near the the Russian republic of Dagestan.
Paradoxically, the lamb’s birth was the result of breeding of farmer Blasius Lavrentiev’s prized ewe.
Instead of a perfect like specimen the 45 year old man expressed shock and disappointment, adding that he had sought to be able to sell the lambs.
Offered the farmer: ‘We had quite a tough winter but when I noticed she was pregnant I was delighted as it meant I would be able to sell the lambs and start making some money again.
‘But when I went down to see how it was going I nearly died.’
The latest incident of incongruous animals being born mirrors an instance in Argentina where a a goat belonging to the Villalba family in Centro, in the north western province of Salta gave birth to a calf with born with a ‘human’ head.
Widely shared images on social media would lead to calls of bestiality, whilst others wondered if chemicals, pollutants or just a freak of nature had come into play?
