Claire Leeson a UK 24 year old has told an ITV morning tv, This Morning show that she is now in debt to the tune of £18k ($30k USD). In debt because of her desperate desire to look like her Hollywood hero, Kim Kardashian.
According to Claire Leeson she first became enamored with our collective hero after watching Keeping Up With the Phony Kardashians in 2009.
Having been bullied at school, Claire Leeson began imitating Kim Kardashian in order to give herself a boost of confidence. In fact it’s when she’s ‘got her Kimmy on’ that Leeson reckons she feels unstoppable, invincible and like she’s really making something of herself. She also says that being Kim Kardashian makes her love herself a little more.
Which is probably Claire Leeson’s back hand way of saying she has zero self esteem and has felt the desperate need to hide behind the visage of a puppet image in order to add depth and sustenance to her persona. Fortunately the tabloids are forever able to offer Kim Kardashian the moral and heroic vigor she may or may not lack in real life.
In order to realize her goal of being well liked, and one speculates coming to accept herself, Claire Leeson has spent over 30 thousand dollars to transform herself into her idol. An idol she can pretend to be as well without having to accept or reckon with her own real identity. But then again isn’t that what idols and role models are all about?
Some of the plastic ‘beautifying procedures‘ the 24 year has undertake perhaps just like her real life hero include: breast augmentation, regularly professional whitening of her teeth, makeup, padded underwear (the Metro refers to it as bum padding), hair extensions and extensive tanning.
And then there’s the awkward issue of paying for all that Hollywood magic…
Jezebel: She pays for it all with credit cards and is now in extreme debt due to her transformation. She’s even been summoned to court, but that’s not stopping her. Leeson’s now looking into more extreme measures to emulate Kim. Her latest plan is to have fat transplants to her butt so that she can achieve Kim’s glorious derriere without the silicone prosthetics she currently wears.
During her morning show appearance, Leeson would admit that her parents were worried about her, nevertheless vowed that she wasn’t planning on ending her transformation anytime soon. When asked about ways that she relates to Kim, Leeson offered the following interesting response: ‘We have the same amount of siblings…we have the same kind of arguments.’
If only Claire Leeson had the courage to lover herself the way she is and not fall prey to the relentless tabloid perpetuation of what constitutes beauty and individuality. Not that you the reader are struggling with the same problem…?
