Road rage victim? Man calls 911 whilst being followed on 1-4 before being killed.

A 48 year old Florida man has turned himself in to authorities after admitting he shot dead innocent motorist Fred William Jr, 47 whom he mistook for someone else this past Saturday afternoon along the I-4 off Tampa.

Jerome Edward Hayes went on to tell that he had an altercation earlier that day with a man at a Tampa strip club which led to security guards at the club kicking him out.

Angry after the encounter, Hayes waited for his rival to emerge from the club and started to follow Turner, believing, mistakenly, that he was the man he had argued with inside the club. Unbeknownst to Hayes, Turner had never set foot in the Tampa Gold club where he had an altercation, instead it was later revealed, Turner had left the adjoining Tres Equis Adult theater,Store and Arcade.

From there Hayes proceeded to follow Turner, even at one point taking to stall up to the him, roll down his window and brandishing a semi automatic pistol at Turner who then frantically took to calling 911 seeking assistance.

Yet by the time police could intervene, 911 dispatchers could hear the sound of bullets flying whilst Turner was on the phone with them. Authorities would soon come to find Turner dead, slumped over the wheel of his car.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Hayes was arrested once before in 2007 on a misdemeanor charge of violating state recycling law but the charge was dropped.

At the time of Turner’s death, his ex wife went on to express deep dismay at her former husband’s death and had offered that he was a reserved quiet man who she could never imagine wanting to hurt anyone.
