Comedian, actor and all round preferred hawt bixch Russell Brand was invited yesterday to appear on MSNBC’s Morning Joe yesterday, presumably to talk about his new movie project the Messiah Complex. That however would be wishful thinking.
Instead, co-host Mika Brzezinski and panelists Katty Kay and Brian Shactman preferred to make jokes at Brand’s expense, pretend they couldn’t understand what he was saying, and refer to him in the third person even though he was sitting right there. I know it’s terrible being a preferred hawt bixch at the world’s expense but one assumes Brand has gotten used to it over the years as our collective maestro of scandal, the contentious and the hunky (yes Brand’s chest hairs and pointy boots were summarily referenced).
Nevertheless at about the 5:30 mark, our hero decides he’s had enough of being the receptacle bin that MSNBC had deigned for him and decides from there on to demonstrate what real ‘journalism’ really means. Yes kids, this is Russell Brand in fine form and you should relish that Russell still grants us these favors to put the press in their place.
So to answer the question put forth, does Russell Brand have a messiah complex? Absolutely but that probably wanes in comparison to some giggly journalists who had their egos delivered in a hand basket courtesy of the messiah himself…
