Casey Anthony‘s lawyers have moved to have her upcoming defamation lawsuit, scheduled for January of 2013 outside of Florida on account of the inciting, defamatory (the irony is too delicious) out speak courtesy of local media who refuse to let Ms Anthony’s 2011 acquittal sit for her purported involvement and first degree murder of her daughter Caylee Anthony.
Ms Anthony’s lawyer Andrew J Chmelier believes ‘the local media refuses to move on’ and that the public feels as though ‘justice was not served.’
Zenaida Gonzalez who is suing Ms Anthony because she argues her name and reputation was irreparably tarnished after Ms Anthony suggested that a woman with the same name may have taken her child argues that although she is aware that Casey Anthony is broke, her and her lawyer John Dill will nevertheless seek any possible future compensation via a trust fund attached to Ms Anthony’s name.
To date there has been speculation that Ms Anthony would be given a book or movie deal of some sort but public disgust/unease towards Ms Anthony remains high despite being proven innocent of the first degree murder of Caylee Anthony.
It has yet to be seen whether the courts will move the case out of state but one wonders how much is at stake here with a not guilty perhaps emboldening Ms Anthony to seek a deal, that said many feel it will be another chance to bring Ms Anthony back to trial and by proxy punish her for the death of her daughter Caylee Anthony given that many feel that she was erroneously found innocent….
