Kids, looks like things are really heating up over at NBC with shocking revelations via radaronline who are today reporting that Matt Lauer, supposed big honcho of the Today show and who is said to have gotten Ann Curry, his recent co anchor, fired is severely hated by various members of the Today crew himself.
At the time of her humiliating ouster at the Today show it was rumored that Matt Lauer and several producers were beginning to get tired of her and actually had begun to resent her as a whiny cry baby who always wanted her way, which of course didn’t sit well with Matt and his perfect tea cup manners.
radaronline: Matt Lauer is “hated” by several long-time producers of TODAY and the crew is in turmoil, all as a result of the morning show host having pushed NBC executives to dump Ann Curry as his co-anchor, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
“There are several producers that have been with the TODAY Show for a very long time, over ten years, and Matt Lauer is now hated by them because they feel that he is responsible for Ann Curry’s being fired. Ann was tremendously popular with the producers, cameramen, and other staffers of the show because she truly is a team player. Ann was all about the news, and breaking stories, just a true pro,” a source close to the situation tells us..
Damn bixch that doesn’t sound too good where Matt is sipping his chamomile.
“Matt on the other hand has been known to act like a real diva. The staffers are disgruntled because they were looking forward to working with Ann during the Olympics and she ended up relegated to very limited camera time and didn’t even appear until several days before the games ended,” the source says.
Kids do you smell a revolt here? Do you think someone might come by Matt and ‘accidentally’ spill his bubbly chamomile tea cup? That wouldn’t be nice, but I’m personally wondering if people are just kind of fed up with his holiness and his holier than thou attitude. Then again let’s not all forget Matt is the diva preferred hawt bixch.
The backlash comes off the back of a continual slide in rankings (we told you Matt!) which must have higher ups concerned and possibly now looking to distance themselves with Matt as the show is unable to climb out of the skids, despite a temporary upsurge when NBC were the sole live carriers of the 2012 Olympics. But now things are back to looking bleak again and the crew just wants to scream at Matt.
“The crew is taking bets about what the cast will look like in one year, and the money is on Savannah Guthrie not sticking around if the ratings continue to plummet. The crew and producers don’t have an issue with Savannah, in fact, they really like her, but they are just getting to know her. Ann was with TODAY for over 15 years,” the source says.
Hmm, personally my money is on Matt calling it a day within the year, but that’s just me reading tea leaves….

Every morning in our house the Today Show would be on. We finally switched the channel shortly after Ann Curry left. Ann brought class and creditably. Now the Today Show feels like fluff and pretty girls surrounding Matt.
Is anybody listening @ NBC? Lauer is NOT king pin or the golden boy they all thought he was! Lauer has to go – period! W/few weeks of low rating – zap! Ann Curry was gone! Now 5 weeks lagging to GMA before the Olympics & then now …. no one’s able to make a decision? The viewers “hands down” easily made the decision for NBC, however, are they even listening? Or are they all “hanging on to their seats!” “All mouth & no guts!” In the aloha state that is called “waha!” Pure hot air!
