Religion is going to make an honest man/woman out of you one way or another….

Kids have you ever wondered why life has got you down, why things just can’t seem to ever work your way, why you’re still on welfare (or probably kicked off it by now)- well it may all be because your precious ass refuses to read the bible. So says Christian historian David Barton. Ready to repent? Then lets hail some rosemaries together this way bixches…

opposingviews: From the precious mouth of Christian historian David Barton:

“Wouldn’t it be interesting to do a study between those that are on welfare and see how much and how often they read the Bible. You know, if Booker T. Washington is right that Christianity and reading the Bible increases your desires and therefore your ability for hard work; if we take that as an axiom, does that mean that the people who are getting government assistance spend nearly no time in the Bible, therefore have no desire, and therefore no ability for hard work? I could go a lot of places with this. I would love to see this proven out in some kind of sociological study, but it makes perfect sense.”

Kids I’m just curious, why is there always a correlation between those who believe in reducing social welfare for the poor (never mind increasing it for all them bankers and captains of industry) and the love of religion? If I’m mistaken I thought Jesus was all about helping the downtrodden. But there must be a catch; only help the downtrodden who read the bible. Wait, but what if I’m still on welfare?

Well who needs logical accuracy when you have Christian David Barton telling you which way is up? Just remember to punish the less off and all the victims you can get your hands on during your lunch break and you’ll make it to heaven along with Christian David Barton.

Isn’t it time you grew up to be a privileged white man who knows which side of the fence heaven and hell are on?

  1. Social commentator and former alter-boy George Carlin sums it up, “Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there’s an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever ’til the end of time! But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He’s all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can’t handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more.”
