As the world commiserates the death of fallen idol Whitney Houston, speculation has begun to froth as to how she actually died. Known to be an avid drug user which many have argued let to the singer’s ultimate demise and public meltdowns, assertions have begun to surface that perhaps the singer may have died as a result of a prescription drug overdose. Or for that matter simply sought the solace of high-profile celebrity drug rehab centers?
Reports TMZ: No illegal drugs have been found in the hotel room where Whitney Houston died — at least not yet — but prescription drugs were present, and it’s possible the singer drowned in the bathtub … TMZ has learned.
Sources tell us … when EMTs arrived Whitney’s body was already removed from the bathtub so it will take an autopsy to determine if she OD’d, drowned or died from some other cause.
Informed sources tell us … Beverly Hills cops — who were still searching the room at the time this story was posted — found various pill bottles. There was no evidence that Whitney was drinking alcohol in the room.
Until an autopsy determines what exactly killed the singer one thing is sure, the singer for many serves as a reminder of the heady days of the 80’s and 90’s when she first appeared on the landscape with her dazzling looks and even more dazzling voice but with her eventual degeneration and capitulation the illusion of grandeur and invisibility began to fade which in some way hinted at the disillusionment the star experienced but probably says more about the public’s own addiction that their hero (never mind her addictions) could no longer be the role model that we demanded her to be.
Then again why the relentless pursuit of making entertainers heroes in the first place and should we really be surprised that it came to this, the eve of a ceremony that she once reigned supreme? The bitter irony….
