Professor accused of viewing child porn on Delta flight pleads not guilty.

The accused, Grant Smith in court

A fellow flight traveller is said to have broken down in tears whilst describing the ordeal of having witnessed one traveller, Grant Smith, a University of Utah professor watching child pornography in the first class department they were both seated at on a recent Delta flight.

According to Kade Wade he sat there open mouth stunned as Mr Smith, sitting one seat ahead of him began to scroll through naked images of naked girls as young as 5.

dailymail.co.uk: He even took a picture of the 47-year-old looking at his screen as proof.

‘He kept scrolling through the pictures and they became sexual and explicit,’ he told Fox News.

‘Little by little they were semi-nude, then completely nude. Just terrible, terrible stuff.

‘It was kind of sad. Tough stuff to see.’

Kurt Wade.

Mr Smith for his part was immediately arrested once the plane touched down at Boston’s Logan airport after Mr Wade notified Delta flight attendants. He now appears on $75 000 bail. All of which raises the question if we are to believe Mr Wade witnessed what he witnessed how could it possibly be that a traveller would have the temerity to view illegal material like that of child pornography on the plane without the fear of reproach? Has traveling become that much of a brazen experience where people do as they please even in full view or could one also wonder that Mr Smith with his tenure of professorship felt invincible and fortified in pursuing the diabolical? If after all he could in his mind get away with such behavior on a plane (and first class thank you very much) where else could one dare wonder this behavior was going on? In his classroom as students unwittingly looked on?

Then there is this:

He said a flight attendant confronted Smith and told him to shut off his laptop – bought by a grant from the university.

Smith then allegedly tried to delete the offending images from his computer.

The images were mostly of girls between eight and 10 years old, naked or nearly naked, engaging in simulated sex acts.

It has been said if Mr Smith, who holds 2 bachelor degrees and a doctorate degree (and one wonders how really learned they really are) if found will be instantly dismissed by the school that he works for. No word yet if he will fail face criminal charges. Such are the mind boggling affairs of certain travelers…
