The evening as choreographed by Wayward Penn founder Larissa Drekonja also featured the spirited designs of one very up and coming Slovenian designer Sanja Velickovic who is adamant about bringing some of her chic designs here to the US as her girls paced up and down a makeshift runway at the gallery.
It is of note that ‘Slovenia in US’ first opened at the Slovenian Embassy in Washington with Slovenia’s prime minister Borut Pahor opening festivities in early February. Present that evening was also Oscar winning producer Tom Heller, Anita Tovich head of NYFA, artist Beatrice Corone, NYU alumni professor Karoly Bardosh, world class photographer and Anton Perich.
The night the exhibit recently closed in NYC -(I have been told that the exhibit will be continuing on a world tour) guests were treated to some homemade Slovenian desserts, one or two which found their way home with me later that evening ….
