James Beard Foundation’s Chefs & Champagne

Celebrity chef MARCUS SAMUELSSON who is involved with East Hampton BLUE PARROT and just added Harlem’s RED ROOSTER to his stable of restaurants, was joined by his model wife MAYA who “usually does not join me at these tasting events but when she heard HAMPTONS she said sure I’ll help out.”

Now lets get to the food, first off, with 40 Plus star chef’s there was no BEST, however a few tastings stood out DGBG’s DANIEL BOULUD and JIM LEIKEN‘s grilled lamb ribs with Sherry honey gastrique and minted yogurt sauce was well received and talked about by chefs and patrons alike. Many also attacked Jamesport resident KEITH LUICE‘s NORTH FORK DUCK WINGS WITH SWEET CHILIES. MICHAEL GINOR‘s FOIE GRAS & DUCK PROSCIUTTO was well received as well.

With all that delicious food luckily there was ample servings of wine and champagne from sponsor NICOLAS FEUILLATTE to wash down the delectables. All the chefs went home with cook wear from EMERIL and the guests were showered with a bag stuffed with gourmet food which was probably devoured the next day on the jitney ride back to the sweltering city.
