SCV: Why NYC- why now?
I studied fashion at Parsons School of design but returned to my hometown of Vienna after I graduated to start the Nikola Fechter Vienna brand. I like having my headquarters in Europe, but it has always been my plan to launch in the US.
From experience I know that New York is the place where fashion dreams come true and where the primary tastemakers are. The premiere event was held in Manhattan because it is the mecca for the influencers that I would like to begin to recognize my brand.
SCV: What should we expect going forward.
I would love to have a small studio in Manhaatan where I can start having trunk shows and create a community that likes to buy my dresses. Also I want to start to have pop up stores in places like Miami Beach where I think my fashion fits the lefestyle extremely well.
