They’re at it again…

The Westboro Baptist Cult Church, from Topeka Kansas, who are widely known to protest high profile military and politically-centric funerals have announced they will travel to Arizona to protest at the funerals of the six victims gunned down in Arizona during a constituents meeting with Rep. Gabrielle Giffords outside a supermarket on Saturday. The massacre’s casualties included a 9-year-old girl, a US Marshal, and a federal judge. Giffords, who is now recovering from surgery, was shot in the head.

The church posted an appalling flier to their website announcing their trip to Arizona.

HuffPo: The flier claims that the shooting of both a House member and a federal judge — the latter of whom was killed — is god’s punishment for judicial and Congressional action against the WBC. “God sent the shooter to shoot you! And He’s sitting in Heaven laughing at you!” the announcement reads.

In just a few short days, two more nails in the coffin of human decency have been secured, first with the shooter, and now with the response by the WBC. If these types of events are just the predecessors to sealing our fate, it’s quite worrisome to think what the final straw may be.

The violent arrival of polemic politics. Arizona and beyond.
