Fate certainly knows no rhyme or reason. Today the sad news that well know stylist Laurence Renard was instantly killed while she was walking along the Upper East side- NYC (90th and 1st ave) when a garbage truck made a sharp turn onto the street just as Laurence was crossing it.
styleist: Renard is perhaps best known as a stylist forVictoria’s Secret. She also styled advertising campaigns for Abercrombie and Fitch shot by Bruce Weber, who released a statement saying that Renard “was a really lovely girl, who just had a lot of good energy and excitement about working in the fashion industry.”
What to say or what to think? Had Ms Renard hesitated for a second, gone off and done an errand, called in sick, broke her heel before crossing the street perhaps she’d still be here tonight- but as all things in the universe – the laws of nature understand no moral boundaries or the sense of what you or I call fair.
Investigators arrested the garbage truck’s driver, 23-year-old Diego Tapia-Ulloa, on suspicion of not having a valid license. An eyewitness told the Mailthat he rounded the corner so fast that Renard “never saw it coming. She didn’t stand a chance.”
And just like that life has to go on. For one it will be a living hell, the other let’s hope somewhere in heaven…
