Bottomless Closet is a charity that provides support for women who have become homeless or are struggling to pay their bills or deal with certain burdens such as drug addiction or domestic abuse. It would be easy to imagine that these fashion gurus had organized the event to get some good holiday press, but charmingly, chatting with Derek Fabulous reveals his very personal connection to Bottomless Closet, where he has volunteered for two years, giving classes. He told a touching story about running away as a young teenager for as long as six months, where he lived out of a tent, before he was finally given support. As a result he felt he should use his talent and platform to lift others up as well and teach them about love and courage.
