High in Hearst Tower, the awards gala was held against a breathtaking view of East Manhattan.  MC Jim Dale made warm introductions before the first award was presented to the very deserving Glenda Bailey.

Glenda is the current editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar magazine, out of Hearst Tower itself. Prior to Harper’s Bazaar, she held the same position for Marie Claire. Her other honors include five Magazine of the Year awards, three Magazine Editor of the Year awards, and two Amnesty International awards.

Showing no small amount of support for Glenda was the inimitable Alan Cumming. “Glenda’s a good friend of mine. She’s an amazing person.” The two first met during Cumming’s Tony-winning run in Cabaret.  On stage  presenting the award, Cumming spoke highly of Bailey’s stature in fashion and publishing, as well as her kindness.  “It’s my favorite quality in people,” said Alan, “and it’s one she has in abundance.”
