Rachel Antonoff, always one of New York Fashion Week’s most anticipated shows; did not let down her fans for upcoming Spring/Summer 2011. Instead of creating a collection; Antonoff took her viewers into her own little beautiful world; literally. With the presentation spread across multiple rooms of a West Village Townhome, Rachel took “making you feel like home” to a whole new level.
Taboo treasure like a Ouji board were spread across a bed, models blew bubbles in bathroom, and even cooked s’mores in the kitchen; strategically placing accessories in the Rachel Antonoff show that weren’t wearable, which in a fascinating way, created a heartwarming pleasure to her S/S 2011 to her collection that far surpassed the feeling of watching a parade of model march down a runway. This smart take on the avant-garde, ever changing nature of fashion created a welcomed new way of presenting a fashion week collection.
