Oh the glamor. Last’s night worldwide launch of the new Salvatore Ferragamo fragrance (or should I say parfum) ATTIMO at the Standard Hotel’s newly opened Le Bain was by far one of the chicest, naughtiest and indispensably delightful evenings New York City has seen in a while. Not since the party for Wallpaper magazine a couple of months back was was there the scene and commotion that was on hand last night. With the chic set in tow, socialites, media darlings, half naked models and the dandy set pilloring for attention, it was as if we were in the middle of fashion week. Of course who we were all there was for the wonderful house of Salvatore Ferragamo which had our collective tongues wagging and our cheekbones strutting to the ever present clicking of another Patrick McMullan narrative…
There to launch ATTIMO, was Ferragamo’s CEO – Michele Norsa who offered to me that ultimately the atelier’s choice of having Dree Hemingway as the face of ATTIMO (which I was later told conjures chichnes and timeless glamor in Italian) was the idea that she symbolized the youth, the sophistication and of course the mystique of the Hemingway legacy. Fortunately for us Michelle was able to offer us a sample and all I could say to those of you who are in the business of making heads turn this number is definitely for you. Who of course was also making our collective heads turn were the number of jet set guests who by 11.15 pm that evening were gracing the Standard Hotel skyline with their silhouettes, striking profiles(yes all the beautiful people were there if you must know…) and the occasional rumor (which I will let remain as such…).
