Barry Wong: Illegal Immigrants don’t Deserve Power or Gas.

The state of Arizona has been receiving tons of scrutiny ever since news broke out that they wanted to banish all illegal immigrants as if they were aliens visiting from another planet. Like other people I was willing to hear out the Arizona government by comparing their pros and cons, but then this neophyte who goes by the name Barry Wong made me realize that the state officials are going to hell in a hand basket.

Wong, a candidate for the AZ utilities commission, has the audacity to want to cut off power and gas to illegal immigrants. Ladies and gentleman meet the devil in the flesh. He told The Arizona Republic, “It is not a right. It is a service.”

So I guess being able to cook a meal or have hot bath water is a luxury? Which kind of makes sense since we are in a recession anyway.

Interestingly Barry is a stolid Republican (any surprises there?) which only means that his intentions are supposed to be good because restricting immigrants of power and gas can only save residents money; except the fact that it would cost power companies to find the actual immigrants. And I don’t think they’ll be raising their hands freely.

Thank God Wong is only a candidate and hasn’t yet been accepted to join the five-person commission. And by the negative feedback his ‘interesting’ plan is getting, I don’t think he’ll be able to add commissioner to his resume anytime soon.

The CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Glenn Hamer put Wong on blast calling his plan a “new low” and “absurd.”

“To deny someone access to electricity based on his or her immigration status is not only a wrongheaded policy proposal, it’s just cruel.”

Let’s hope that other AZ officials feel the same way Hamer does. Barry Wong, please go away. As. Soon. As. Possible. Now!!!
