The ascent of the celebrity blogger. A who’s who in the sleaze department.

The one celebrity Richard Lawson can never deface- William Faulkner.

I know a thing or two about celebrities...

It once used to be held that an accomplished or rather gifted writer would amuse themselves by writing about society and being taken by such crowd as it’s patron- think of Truman Capote or Dommick Dunne if you will. That of course was then and as we all know today taste buds have changed and morphed into the equivalent of a tarnished Colonel Sanders Rancheros Grime Delux that you the consumer, reader can never get enough of. That said the following is a how to manual of getting the unequivocal best of celebrity sludge, the preferred players and why those players matter or don’t and why they’ll probably be around for time to come.

After all a celebrity is never a celebrity until he’s been singularly anointed and bludgeoned by those who love him or her the most- the sleazy celebrity blogger…

10/ Miss Brittany Mendenhall. Until recently the editor and publisher of Chi Chi 212 this girl was recently brought on to be Joonbug new Editor in Chief. An avid observer of the nightlife circuit, she seems to concentrate on delusional doormen like Axe, Wax ( I keep forgetting his name, but he’s the big burly guy that keeps telling everyone that he is an actor, – Was, Was Stevens that’s his name) and other self appointed important people that she is committed to keep eternal vigil on.

She recently broke the story on Justin Ross Lee getting socked in the face by Axe’s best friend and fellow doorman of Avenue Rich Thomas and we couldn’t stop laughing. With a wonderful resume of being banned from most nightclubs we have to admit that Ms Mendenhall is our type of girl and we can’t wait to see her continue punishing and castigating the likes of doormen, dj’s and the underage aspiring model crowd that make her readership. But you know the saying, once you’re old enough to pose you’re old enough to have an attitude…

9/ Chiara Atik, courtesy of Guest of a Guest. Over zealous celebrity blogger who from time to time relies on publicist tip sheet and every picture that Patrick McMullan throws at her.

Chiara for all intensive purposes can offer a very interesting read, geared mostly to her sorority sisters and aspiring socialites she tends to specialize in spilling and occasionally castigating the balls of society types like Devorah Rose and other blue blood that she does not approve of. At times witty and a touch on the repetitive (but that’s what happens when you use press releases over and over we guess…) she’s a kindred treat that even this author will from time to time check into:

With respect to Jules Kirby she had this to say:
