Ladylike leather is not something I find myself saying often, but it applied here. Ivory silk blouses tucked into an A-line leather skirt was very naughty secretary, and got a nod of approval from the representatives for Glamour magazine. Leather pants were paired with conservative blazers and almost looked equestrian in nature, which I loved. Of course, I certainly don’t recommend riding a horse in leather pants to anyone with a modicum of love for their lady parts.

Their cocktail dresses and formal wear was a miss, for me. I love shiny things and it’s hard to make a sequin dress I don’t like, but their sequin material looked like it came from Jo-Ann’s fabric Store and the dresses looked like they came from Target. Now, I love me some Target clothing, but not in a fashion week tent. Even the show’s closer, a silver liquid lame gown didn’t hit the mark. Yes, it was lovely, but not spectacular. Every show I’ve been to has received a standing ovation except for this one. The response was subdued, perhaps because while some of the clothes were creatively constructed, much of it failed to stand out. Very little of it looked like something I couldn’t buy at any department store.
