Adrian: Robin came to a show a while ago, and liked the band. She ended up playing a few songs on one of the shows. Howard was saying how we were completely insane for playing in a band, but I guess they liked it.
SCV: Why did he say you were insane for playing in a band?
Adrian: Because we have family members that also play in a band…
SCV: Would that be your father?
Adrian. Yea. He’s had minor success (heavy on the sarcasm.)
SCV: I mean your dad is Joe Perry. Do you feel like you’re always going to be in his shadow?
Adrian: I just don’t really care. People will say whatever they’ll say. It doesn’t really matter. I have a lot of musicians in my family beside him. I started playing for my own reason and my own way. I think it’s cool that we’re in a musical family.
SCV: Do you find that in general people are jealous of your connection?
Adrian: It’s not my fault. People will either give us a shot or they won’t. We’re trying to do it the right way. We could’ve been capitalizing on that from day one, but we really don’t at all. We want to earn our way just like every other band. We’re not rolling around in Mercedes with a big record contract. We have a small label, with no money. We make our own records. We’re scraping by just like other bands, you know? We’re a real band. We’re not waiting for some reality show.
SCV: (jokingly) Why not?
Adrian: (laughs) Honestly, I don’t know why. We could be making a lot of money.
SCV: What is the end all goal for TAB the band? Do you want to be a huge success like Aerosmith?
Adrian: (sarcastic) We want to be a complete failure.
(Laughter all around)
Tony: As long as I don’t have to work, and can play music for the rest of my life, I’ll be happy. I don’t have to make millions of dollars.
Adrian: I would like to make millions of dollars.
SCV: Are we all on the same page here?
(More laughter from the group.)
Tony: I don’t need to play Madison Square Garden.
Adrian: I want to be the biggest fuckin’ band in the entire world.
SCV: Are you being serious?
Adrian: Why wouldn’t I? Why do you do this? To be average? We want to go for it and do it in our own way. I don’t do things half way.
