Michael H to the Right.

Golan, being a great hostess for the entire night, led me onto meet Michael H, whose designs were aptly named, “Rock Punk Couture.” “Custom, handmade, one of a kind, British-influenced” leather jackets and pants adorned the mannequins in the corner of the room that was reminiscent of Aerosmith – which, Michael H has styled (including a surplus of rockers such as: Duran Duran and Gun & Roses, to name a few). Dressed in all black with rose colored sunglasses, Michael H was the living breathing model of his own haute couture line for the rock genre.

All these talents were scouted out by Sally Golan herself from the network of friends she had. The way they all seemed to have mutual admiration and love for one another simply boiled down into one statement by Golan; “you know how the arts are.” Already the 5th installment of the Social Exposure, it is surprising to note that it all began by accident when Golan hosted a party in order to support her own TV show. She wanted to use the party as a networking platform, but it became something so much more than that. After realizing what she could do not only for herself but the talents that she chooses from amongst her close unit of friends, she expanded her party into a monthly event.

With each party she throws, it seems Ms. Golan’s intentions are to bring out another part of the edgy dark underworld of New York City into the mainstream. In a city where everything is illuminated and glorified, why not bring a little bit of darkness into the lives of New Yorkers?
