Of course we wonder if that’s just wishful thinking, the reluctance part or the Freudian desire to be one myself? Either way, if I keep believing that I am an orator of life’s hubris I may just last the ride down to Charles st relatively intact. Then again the word ‘relative,’ is just relative, isn’t it?

100_4081Resigned to my fifth zingatini I do what I know best, I take out my notebook and begin to savagely write the entreaties of my new found friend’s particular nuances. It’s like taking out a camera. People suddenly change they way they hold themselves, what they say and how they even they say it, especially celebrities.

Despite the current Fashion Week myth, celebrities from what I have noticed are more insecure, bedazzled and confused then most of us, it’s just that they’re more photogenic and thus ironically their good looks pass as success in every other aspect of their lives.

Don’t get us wrong, we do admire talent, spunk, creativity , we just wish that this was the consistent caveat, but recalling an incident at one of the shows I attended, the woman sitting next to me almost feinted when Paris Hilton stood there directly in front of her, an obvious faux pas but given our collective neurosis and desire for superhuman validation an appropriate reaction. Of course we do wonder if nominating Miss Paris Hilton as a demi god is a wise one, nevertheless considering her family lineage comes from entertainment, (hospitality) she is on some level fulfilling her family legacy.

Who was filling their legacy was indeed Kithe, and we were quite pleased that this gentle soul had come as far as he had, and he even had our Benji, one of our editorial contributors reminiscing how he knew Kithe when he was just seventeen. We just hope that Kithe wasn’t a celebrity when he was seventeen.

100_4083The belly dancers finally gone, Catherine Malandrino speaking in her native Greek while enjoying a fag and the look of Kim Khardasian when she finally walks out and I later realize that I didn’t have a clue who she was. Somehow that restores faith in this Scallywag’s pursuit of the human drama.

Then again, fashion week is always surrounded by drama, usually the self made kind, what a week it was, and kudo’s to you Kithe, and even you Marc Jacobs, cause Benji remembers when you used to call him when you’d get out of school, when he used to work way back at Charivarilovely when you can actually be friends with a person as opposed to the look in the camera.

  1. it’s weird seeing Kithe going out to party and spending money when he is screwing people over by not paying his bills
